Osteoarthritis
and Rheumatoid arthritis are among the most common forms of arthritis. Although
the two have similar symptoms, the difference between the two need to be
understood to have a proper treatment. Whereas osteoarthritis is a condition in
which the cartilage of the joint wears out, rheumatoid arthritis on the other
hand, is an auto-immune disease in which the immune system attacks its own
tissues, including synovial membrane that protects the joints. The symptoms of
the two also differ in the sense that osteoarthritis occurs in an isolated
joint, rheumatoid arthritis occurs in a symmetrical pattern. For instance, in
rheumatoid arthritis of hip joint, both the hips get affected. Likewise, the
rheumatoid arthritis of hands involve both the hands etc.
Brief Explanation:
Most of the people wants to know the difference between the
osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, As both of them were the most searched
or common type of arthritis. Also we know that arthritis is the swelling and
tenderness for one or more joints. Most occurred symptoms for arthritis were
joint pain and stiffness, which will increase with age.
Osteoarthritis will cause cartilage the hard, slippery tissue which
will cover the ends of bones so they form a joint to break down. RA is
a disease in which the immune system will attack the joints, starts with lining
of joints.
Gout can cause when uric acid crystals, form when there's too
much of uric acid in your blood. Infections or other disease,
such as psoriasis or lupus, may cause other types of arthritis.
Each and every type of arthritis has a different treatments
based on the type. The main motive of arthritis treatments is to reduce the symptoms
and also improve quality of life.
Symptoms
The mostly occurred signs and symptoms of arthritis will involve
in the joints. Based on type of arthritis, signs and symptoms may vary:
- Pain
- Stiffness
- Swelling
- Redness
- Decreased range of motion
Causes
Most of the people suffer from these two types of arthritis - osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis – it will damage the joints in different ways.
